Mira Tiwari is a Research Associate in Knowledge, Governance, Transformations (KGT), part of the Global Governance Programme at the European University Institute's Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies.

At KGT her projects centre on optimising the nexus between science, policymakers, and citizens, bridging disciplines and knowledges for accurate, ethical data and evidence-informed policy making. 

She specialises in societal learning and education for sustainable development, and climate and social justice in Majority World contexts. She has practitioner and academic experience in interdisciplinary research and policy, inter-institutional governance, regional cooperation, and education. Her work aims at strengthening systems approaches and transformative governance through socioecological and decolonial frameworks, critical data use, and local and expert knowledges.

She is currently based in Siena, Italy, and has lived in Kuala Lumpur, Amsterdam, Chicago, Mumbai, Cambridge, and New Delhi. Her working languages are English, Italian, and French. Her conversational languages are Hindi and Spanish.
